Domain Comparison

Compare up to three domains side by side on SEO health, technical checks, pronunciation and estimated keyword value — then see which one wins.

How to Compare Domain Names for SEO & Valuation

Comparing domains is a scoring exercise, not a browsing one. Evaluated one at a time, every name looks reasonable: the age seems respectable, the link count seems healthy, and the spelling only becomes a problem after you have paid for it. Placing candidates side by side forces each one through identical criteria in the same session, so the differences that actually predict performance stand out from the ones that merely look impressive.

On the SEO side, weight relevance above raw volume. Unique referring domains matter more than total links, editorial mentions matter more than directories, and a natural spread of anchor text matters more than a keyword-perfect one. History is the second filter: a domain that hosted a genuine site in your topic carries usable equity, while one that parked for years — or switched niche after every transfer — carries a profile you cannot inherit safely. Technical health closes the loop, because DNS, HTTPS and redirect behaviour decide whether the equity survives the move at all.

Valuation then follows the comparison rather than leading it. A price range only means something once you know what a name is competing against, so read the estimate as a relative ranking of your shortlist and set a walk-away number for each candidate before an auction starts. When two domains score closely, break the tie on downside — the cleaner history and the lower legal risk win, because comparison is mainly a tool for avoiding expensive mistakes.
