Why I built Flowdiction

The problem that kept coming back

Every time I started a project I spent days on the name. I would open a registrar, type a candidate, get "taken", and start again — with no record of what I had already rejected and no way to compare two decent options objectively.

The spreadsheet phase

So I built a sheet: pronunciation, length, extension, whether the name limits future products, trademark risk. Scoring three names took twenty minutes and the decision suddenly felt calm instead of impulsive.

Why it became a site

Friends kept asking me to run their names through "my sheet". That is a bad long-term arrangement, so I turned the columns into pages: search, comparison, an SEO audit, and later the expired domain market and watchlist.

What I deliberately left out

No fake authority scores, no ten-point verdict on whether a name will make you money, and no forced sign-up to see results. The tool shows measurable signals and lets you decide.

Where it is going

More content that explains the numbers, better bulk handling for larger lists, and translations so the guides are readable in more than one language.

If you use it

Send me a message when something is confusing. Almost everything on the site exists because someone said "this part does not make sense".
